Back to school – an excuse for crafting?

Back-to-school-cricut-01Lots of women like crafting, I have so many friends who make cards, crochet and have other wonderful skills and I have to say I’m one of them; perhaps not sporting the entire aforementioned skill-set but nonetheless I love all things crafty. I always encourage my son to make his birthday and Christmas cards for friends and I’m always delighted to step in to give him a hand finishing them off…oh go on then I’ll say 🙂

So armed with my new Cricut Explore cutting machine, and whilst reading Facebook posts along the lines of “Oh yawn, today I will be mostly naming school equipment” I’ve been thinking “Oh yey, today I will be mostly naming school equipment!” spending wonderful time creating sticky vinyl name tags. And a roll of Cricut Vinyl is surprisingly sticky!!

So as you can see from the pic, all school equipment is now adorned with my son’s name. And it was soooo easy. You simply enter the text in the design studio computer software, place the vinyl in the correct position on the cutting mat, press go then be mesmerised by the cutter stealthily dancing over the mat cutting your desired shapes, then remove your shapes from the mat and you’re ready to stick away.

Never had so much fun naming stuff, ever. And there’s no way my little man with lose anything at school now, well not for long at least.

The Cricut Explore costs £249 and is available from Amazon, Hobby Craft and other craft retailers.
